Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How many tournaments will the team play in? Answer: It depends on the age of the team but generally the younger age teams will play in far fewer tournaments than an older team. Although it’s completely up to the Coaching Staff & Team, we’d like to see the older teams average playing in at least a couple tournaments per month in the Fall & Spring/Summer months. The HS age teams, since they can’t play during the school season, may play in 3 or even 4 tournament per month in June & July.

  2. How far away are the tournaments? Answer: A team may choose to stay fairly local within an hour or so drive time but may also choose to go out of state for a tournament or two if they want. It’s completely up to the coaching staff and team.

  3. How many times a week will the team practice? Answer: That is completely up to the coaching staff. We want the coaches to schedule at least (1) practice per week, but they are welcome to schedule more.

  4. Are the practices mandatory? Answer: I’d like to say yes, but I understand conflicts with youth leagues & school ball play into the mix. All I ask is that you communicate with the coaches well in advance any conflicts in schedules so they can plan accordingly.

  5. How transparent are the finances of the team? Answer: (100%) Even though the books have always been open for anyone who asked to see them, beginning with the ‘23/’24 season, a copy of every invoice, payment, fee, etc. that is charged to the team and ultimately to the parents, will be emailed to the Coaches and Parents.

  6. If my team wants to try and keep the cost to a minimum, is that possible? Answer: Yes. We want each team to have a good looking uniform and all of the necessary equipment to play and feel good about, but they don’t all have to be “top shelf” items. The team may decide that they don’t need (2) pair of pants and that (1) pair will be fine or they may want to go with a couple less expensive dri-fit style jerseys instead of the full-blown uniform jerseys. If a team feels a Cage Jacket of another line item isn’t a necessity, they can choose not to get them. The team may also decide to participate in fewer tournaments. Point-In-Case, the younger teams will most likely play in far fewer tournament than the older age teams.

  7. Do we have to purchase everything that is listed under Uniforms & Equipment Fee: Answer: Yes & No. Yes, we want each team member to have the same uniforms and equipment. No, the team does not have to purchase items on the list that they feel are not necessary or relevant to their age group.

  8. How much of a Mark-Up is added to the uniform, equipment &/or other line-item costs? Answer: Nothing is added. The price we are charged & pay for each line item, is the same price charged to the team and parents.

Please feel free to ask questions at the tryout. We want this to be a good fit for everyone so make sure you fully understand everything, and it fits with what you are looking for.
